Wife swapping is more mainstream than you think. Wife swapping has several names which include Swinging, Lifestyle and Sports Sex. Wife swapping has been around since the 1950’s when couples placed keys in a bowl and wives picked the keys out and went home with the owner of the key.
Wife swapping is now mainstream and happens in every neighborhood in the world. There are an estimated 4 million swingers in the United States alone. In 2007, Oprah produced a three part series, “Sexuality in America” where she talked about wife swapping that was happening in the suburbs.
How do you wife Swap?
First thing you need to do is talk to your spouse. This is something that you cannot spring on your wife or husband. You cannot surprise them by taking them to a swingers club or party. You need to be honest and open with them. You both need to agree on this together.
The next step is to locate your local swingers club and plan a weekend night when you both can get out to experience this type of club. The idea is to have a couple of drinks, dance and meet other like-minded swinger couples and/or singles from your area. Some clubs allow single men, others don’t. All clubs allow single women.
Once you have attended a swingers club, I suggest you and your significant other communicate on what you enjoyed and what bothered you. What people you were attracted to and which did not meet your expectations. The most important part is to communicate.
Jealousy is a big issue in new swingers. This is something you cannot hide or pass over. You need to talk to each other about where you are jealous and why. Make sure you understand and discuss each of your insecurities. By communicating these issues up front you will, as a couple, be able to overcome obstacles that could get in the way of swinging as a couple. Next step is to attend a meet and greet to meet more swingers.
Women in the lifestyle control the situation. If the woman is not comfortable, secure, and happy, then the potential experience will be lost. Both women from the couples must feel comfortable and mutually determine if wife swapping will occur. Allow your woman to decide what events to attend and to be an integral part of determining compatible couples. I am not suggesting the man has no say in the situation. Good conversation, understanding and and mutual respect must occur all throughout the process.
